Application Process

Step 1

Check our enrolment requirements to see whether you meet the eligibility criteria for our Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary, School-based). Before submitting your application, you can also use our online eligibility tool to determine whether you have the required skills and experience to enrol in this programme.

Step 2

Submit an application form. You will need to upload a few documents, including your certified identification documents and academic transcripts. You can find a full list of required documentation on the Apply Now page.

A Police Vetting Check is also required, which can take up to 4 weeks to process. We recommend getting all the required information to us well in advance of the programme start date to prevent any delays.

Step 3

We will contact you to discuss the next steps, find out more about you, and let you know if we need any further information. This is also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions.

Step 4

If you have been referred to us by one of our community of schools, the school will be in touch with you directly to organise an interview.

If you have not been referred to us by one of the schools in our community, we will work with you to find a suitable school which is able to support you as your “home” school. They will contact you to schedule an interview.

You can learn more about how to prepare for the interview here.

Step 5

When a decision is made, we will get in touch with you. If you have not been successful, we will let you know whether you are likely to be eligible in subsequent years and what action this may require.

Successful applicants will be sent a conditional offer of enrolment letter. Further details about the offer will be provided in the letter including the terms of your enrolment.

Please note: all offers of enrolment to the programme are conditional upon TTI receiving all the necessary approvals and accreditations for the programme from NZQA and the Teaching Council.
